The Reasons Why Newcastle Should Keep Allardyce

Ok, I admit that this blog also have been questioning Sam Allardyce’s tactics and game plan couple times, especially during the Portsmouth catastrophe last weekend. But today I have been much calm down now and have read on some news about his possible replacement sooner or later.

But, today the Newcastle chairman has embraced a long-term outlook; no quick fixes, no panic measures. Me and most of Toon supporters may have been disheartened by Newcastle’s two defeats in succession, but Chris Mort has reassurances regarding Sam Allardyce’s job at St James’ Park.

“Chopping and changing managers hasn’t worked,” Mort said as quoted from Time’s, “Success stories at other clubs are often about longevity. The Premier League manager is clearly in a highly pressurised environment – four have gone this season – but the guys who have brought success have been there longer term. Sam is doing a great job.”

I think what Chris Mort talking about as a sample was Sir Alex Ferguson success story with Manchester United. He also wants to clarify that Mike Ashley wasn’t the Roman Abramovich’s type of Billionaire.

“The fact that Sam wasn’t our appointment and that Mike has lots of money doesn’t create any kind of problem for me,” Mort said.

Mr. Mort also stated that the new Newcastle regime wanted to get involved in the club revolution because they know very well how much this club means to their most loyal supporters. Beside of that, he wants to resists a real short-term attitude in the football business.

He said more that this club cannot have full of optimism one day and talking about going to qualify for the Champions League, while on the other day when you lose two games it’s suddenly changed to who’s going to be the next manager.

“We aren’t going to entertain stories like the one saying we’re going to get rid of Sam because we’ve lost two on the trot,” Mort said. “We have a long-term view about building to compete at a higher level. On and off the field, we feel we’re moving in the right direction.”

Very well said Mr. Mort, although we are all agree for most of all your statesment today, but we still want to have more wins coming on our side, especially on this weekend. The other defeats may be gone with the wind, but it would take the long hard road to eased the pain from a defeat against sunderland.

I do hope, Big Sam can have great success with Newcastle and would love to give him more time to develop the team, but if the results going to be more defeats in the upcoming fixtures, that will not be good for the club and business. I think you are also knows that very well because you are a very good businessman. All the very best then for Newcastle United. Howay the Lads!
