Stephen ‘I Wonder Why He Is Such A Loser Here’ Carr has been linked with a return to London. The Republic of Ireland defender and former Tottenham Hotspur captain is linked with a move to West Ham United.

Stephen Carr is making appearance for Toon yesterday against Blackburn as replacement to the injured Abdoulaye Faye. He made an immediate ‘impact’ for the home team second goal. Santa Cruz runs at the United backline and Stephen Carr recovers to nick the ball away from the toe of the Rovers striker, but failed to possesed the loose ball.

Stephen Carr have announced his retirement from international soccer on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 nd it looks like he also think that it’s time for him to move away too from St. James’ Park.

The 31-year-old Carr played 44 times for Ireland after making his debut in 1999. He said he was retiring because Ireland failed to qualify for next year’s European Championship.

“It’s a chance now for the FAI (Irish soccer federation) to rebuild for the future,” Carr said. “There are many good young players that are coming out of Ireland, with the likes of Kevin Foley at Wolves, that should get the opportunity to play now.”

Carr has spent much of this season at Premier League club Newcastle struggling with a hamstring injury. He last played for Ireland in a 4-0 friendly win over Denmark on Aug. 22.

Dublin born Stephen Carr contract with Newcastle will end on August 10th, 2008 from Tottenham Hotspur where he had spent the last 11 seasons since making his senior debut under Ossie Ardiles, away at Burnley in the League Cup on 22 September 1993.

Carr making 39 appearances and getting upfield to score once – the winner in a 2-1 win against Southampton, in his first season with United, but that’s all he can do good for us during his time with the Tyneside club. His chances deteriorate during the 2005/06 season, but still managed 21 starts.

He manage to make 30 starts in 2006/07, but this season he is once again being left to Allardyce bench, only got 4 ( 2 subs) appearances so far before the move to West Ham is on the news today. Well, goodbye then Mr. Carr!
