I think if KK had seriously asked for Beckham, Lampard, Henry etc. then Ashley would have used it in his “It is a fact …” statement to try and make KK look stupid.
That statement would have been fully checked by lawyers before it was released.
As they didn’t use it, I’d suggest it’s mainly just nonsense from the press.
