Who are they? For me, one of them has been proved very usefull and has set his heart to build very well relationships with the Toon Army, while the other one is struggling to prove what he can do and set a reasonable ambition of his own.

Chris Mort and Kevin Keegan

I have read from the Journal today about our best player on the Spurs game last Sunday, Charles N’Zogbia has expressed (again) his desires to leave Newcastle United for other side.

The Journal reports emanating from France suggest Paris Saint Germain could agree a swap deal for N’Zogbia with Mamadou Sakho heading in the opposite direction.

Charles N'Zogbia expressing his desire to leave Newcastle

Charles was recently signed a new contract at St James’s Park which the Magpies until 2012, but he told the French football paper L’Equipe, as quoted from the Journal, he wants to reach a higher level of ambition after four years at Newcastle which he doesn’t think that is possible.

Meanwhile, Joe Kinnear has maintained that he will not let any of Newcastle’s players to leave until he can bring new players in to strengthened his thin United squad.

Former Newcastle United chairman Chris Mort

Still from the Journal report, former Newcastle chairman Chris Mort is prepared to return to St James’s Park to help rebuild Mike Ashley’s shattered regime. Mort has did much positive work in his first role as United chairman in Summer 2007 before leaving the club on last June 2008.

Newcastle United chairman Chris Mort is positive to leave the club this summer to return to his role as co-head of London law firm Freshfields, and Mike Ashley is look set to name Mort’s deputy chairman Derek Llambias as the new Newcastle United chairman.

Although many of the Toon Army is already known that Chris Mort would be just a temporary figure in his position as the club chairman, but the appoitment of Derek Llambias is possibly raising another doubt for the future of the Magpies, as this club will lead by someone else outside the football field.

Magpies zone contributor Clarky is prefer us see hire a proper Chairman or Chief Executive, say of David Dein’s standing, to who Ashley could totally delegate responsibility for running the football club.

The appointment of Chris Mort in July last year was also questionable at first time, as he has no experience in managing a football club before. But, many Toon supporters believe that Chris Mort main job is to balancing the club accounts and to free the club from debts.

Former club owner Sir John Hall said Mort’s departure was to be expected when Mike Ashley took over his club and hired Chris Mort to head up his negotiating team.

“I think he probably had an agreement to stay and complete the legalities needed to take the club private and consolidate Mike’s takeover.” Sir John said. “Give the people time. It’s a business and you’ve got to consolidate, learn and go forward. I’m sure we’ve done that this season.”

I hope so…

My dear Toon Army and my other internet friends, thanks for the support for this blog so far and for all your comment to the posts, I really appreciate it and encourage you to keep doing it and please do correct me if I’m wrong.

Today, I have a very interesting comment from my latest Toon friend Sandy. She ( or he? ) has write a cool comment for my post about our new chairman Chris Mort and the club owner Mike Ashley. To Sandy, I’m sorry if my post is steering more negativity to our beloved Newcastle United, but to be honest I only want to say what’s on my mind.

My dear Sandy, if you read my post again carefully, you will see that in personal I don’t say they are not knowing anything about football, in fact I feel it’s funny that from the Guardian article, they said that Mike Ashley decision to get Keegan back was only because we told him to.

And my opinion about Chris Mort, I feel bad to read that he is surprising that we are in the relegation battle now and feels that this is not what he and Mike thought when buy out the club.

According to my humble perception, he is saying that Newcastle United situation now is nothing to do with his or Ashley’s decision in running this club. There’s so many factors I guess that possibly drag us into this relegation threat.

First of all, the former manager. I was personally supporting him all the way (please browse more pages on this blog and you will find it) but later, when he denied to take any reponsibility for any mistake that he’s been doing in managing Newcastle I lost my respect to him.

And in January, when Mike decided to ask Mort to sack BSA, many of the Toon Army think it was a good decision, but there are many of us also think it was bad decision and not in the right time. It was good decision if Mike is already knows (for sure) who is the new gaffer to replaced BSA, but I think he is not.

I also agree with Sandy about what the Toon Army wanted is 110% attacking football, and I was the one who is in tears when I read about the Messiah is back in Toon, I have a special page dedicated to him. I will always supporting Keegan and that’s why I write on my last post: I will said Mike and Chris knows nothing about football if they don’t give KK a massive funds to rebuild this club.

Once again, I’m sorry if this post is another negative thought, I was the same as everyone who is supporting United and was so passionate for this club more than anything. This site will always be Magpies Zone and will never be Smoggies Zone.

After watching Newcastle side get a vital away point at St. Andrew’s yesterday, United chairman Chris Mort is admitted that He and Mike Ashley were surprised by our relegation dogfight and said it was the last thing on their minds when they took over the club last summer.

I told you both, I was also as surprise as you two about the very poor season we’re in this year. This is the worst season we ever had in the last Toon’s decade of decadence.

Quote from the Shields Gazette, Mort also grown frustrated with the constant speculation around Kevin Keegan’s position so soon into his second tenure, He knows Newcastle are a long way from guaranteeing their top-flight status for another season, and staving off the threat of what would be a catastrophic relegation.

The fact is that without any sufficient back-up ammount of money available for both former manager and Keegan to penetrate the transfer windows, even Jose Mourinho will not guaranteed anything for them. When Keegan returned to St James’ Park in January and the transfer window closed without any new players coming in, Keegan was later saying that he could not offer any guarantees about the club’s survival.

From The Guardian, I found it funny when they write about a popular theory that Mike Ashley is went for Keegan simply because most of the fans he spoke to wanted him back, in which the Toon Army were later stands accused him of not knowing too much about football either.

Simply, what we have now is mostly a snowball effect of Newcastle United’s poor mismanagement by the former chairman, and to be honest I was hoping at first place that with Mort and Ashley we will have a new era and we will finally have managed a good foundation laid down for the club future, but it seems that we are now fall into another version of mismanagement in what I was (again) hoping that this time it will not worst than the previous one.

We still can survive through this stormy fog of the Tyne, and if they want to have a club according to what they’re believe we were, Keegan should have a massive transfer funds ready in the summer for a complete rebuild of this club. If not, then I will said that Chris Mort and Mike Ashley are simply businessmen, a selfmade billionaire who knows nothing about football.

United official club today announces the club has appointed Dennis Wise in the role of Executive Director (Football), Tony Jimenez as Vice President who will be responsible for future player recruitments for the club and Jeff Vetere, who joins from Real Madrid in the position of Technical Co-ordinator.

Dennis Wise’s job is mostly to assist the United Board on football-related matters, including the development of the Club’s Academy and player recruitment. He will report to the Chairman.

Tony and Jeff will also assist in player recruitment. Our source said that the final decision of any new player recruitments will also have included Keegan’s thought.

Below is Newcastle United’s chairman statement as quoted from the official club site:

“This is all part of the vision that recently helped us to secure Kevin Keegan’s return to the Club as manager.”

“Two of the conclusions of our strategic review, since acquiring the Club, were that the Club would benefit from having a football person involved at Board level, which it has not had historically, and that further senior resources are needed for recruiting players of the highest quality from this country and further afield.”

“Dennis would like to move away from day-to-day football management to a Board role and, with his considerable energy and intelligence, we believe he will do very well in this new position.”

“With Kevin able to devote his efforts to developing and running the first team squad, Dennis, Tony and Jeff will each help us to secure success for Newcastle United Football Club at all levels and for the long-term. One or two further key appointments will follow in the months ahead.”
