For me the only real problem was the failure to get the ball to HBA and Haidara often enough during that last 15 minutes, and the preponderance of lumps up the field towards Shola – a tactic that failed totally even in spain where you can bet using the codigo promocional vivelasuerte as soon as you grab one. HBA had the beating of Flamini, who had already been booked for a savage foul on him, and imho was our potential match winner. Numerous times he was wide open on the right, looking for the ball that rarely arrived.

Santon was literally all over the place, and not even Jonas’s efforts down the right were good enough to contain Sagna and Walcott. Santon’s defending is looking increasingly dodgy. Accordingly, Colo was pulled all over the shop – but he still did rather well plugging the gaps.
Williamson looks a nervous wreck these days and was made to look rather foolish by RVP’s brilliant 1st touch for their equaliser. Without doing anything of particular note, Simpson looked steady against the potential threat of Oxlade-Chamberlain, and at least there was little threat down our right.

Since Taylor’s injury our defending imho has deteriorated significantly, and the defence requires a significant rethink ahead of next season. Taylor’s full recovery physically and form-wise is not guaranteed, and we badly need another top class center back as well as at least one decent full back.
And from what my other folks told me, Arsenal were subdued down their left by Hatem Ben Arfa being there. He doesn’t track back as well as Jonas, but he clearly petrified them, and meant that Gibbs was very reluctant to go forward and join Chamberlain and attack Simpson.

By the second half, the combined effects of replacing Santon with Perch and getting the central midfield to provide better cover stabilised the back four distinctly. Of course it also meant that we rarely ventured forward, but it restricted them to a handful of clearcut chances.
That’s what made the winner such a downer: it really looked as though we had held out, and I think some last minute complacency from Simpson and Guthrie were our downfall.

]]>“We picked a side to live with the tempo we knew they would try and play at, and simply from start to finish we didn’t manage to.” Allardyce said, quoted from SkySports, “We gave away too many silly free-kicks, and conceded a goal which could have been avoided.”
It was Alan Smith silly challenge who starts the process to the only goal at JJB Stadium. I think Smudger misjudge Big Sam’s instruction to play as usual and not worried to do any tackles, but forget to think which one is necessary and was not.
It’s also interesting to examine Shay’s current performance. Many of goals he conceded recently was come from a dead ball set pieces and long shots. Is he still good enough to be United’s number one or should we recall Harper at Stamford Bridge?
Our defenders are also have the part in any goals we conceded so far, but in my honest opinion, some of them were the one that Given usually did successfully to save. I also noticed one situation where he does look panic and almost made an own goal.
“There was the same amount of chances for both sides, but the free-kick turned it in Wigan’s favour in the end.” Allardyce added more, “Wigan worked hard, and didn’t allow us to play, but when that happens you have to roll up your sleeves, use your skills and brain power to overcome that, and Wigan were very good at that. I can’t knock them for that.”
From the fans perspective, Allardyce tactic was again the same thing as he always did so far this season. Emre was playing too deep with only Geremi (?) providing a little attacking support with Milner and Duff wide. Viduka cutting a lone figure up front.
We just didn’t have any creative ability in midfield to distribute the ball to the wide players on both wings. And we still don’t have anyone with the pace to follow up the attack. The plain facts are that things are simply not improving, and following a spell where the crowd appeared to shock at least some of the players into taking the situation by the scruff of the neck, we seem to have slipped back to where we were a few weeks ago.
I only can hope they lads will stay on focus and not conceding too many against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on the weekend and at least give us any dignity to end the first period of this season.

]]>If this is all about the race, the name in pole position is Jose Mourinho followed in no particular order Martin O’Neill, Luiz Felipe Scolari, Guus Hiddink, Fabio Capello, Alan Shearer while Sam Allardyce, Steve Coppell, Mark Hughes and Terry Venables come next.
So, this is a little bit of “mysterious” why the Arsenal boss is so care about having an Englishman as the new manager for England.
“You know what makes me sad? I am more nationalistic than you because you want to go for Jose Mourinho, Fabio Capello – I am the only one who goes for an Englishman.”
More from his nationality speech “I will give him my opinion, which I do not hide. I have said that many times. I think it has to be an Englishman because it is English football and the English football federation”
Interesting, but when it comes about his Arsenal squad I wonder why he doesn’t care much about the England Nationalistic. The Arsenal team is a member of the English Football Association and one of the English football assets, so why he didn’t have more english player playing for his team?
His Arsenal team yesterday make a visit to St. James Park with only one englishman, Theo Walcott and his job in Arsenal team last night is only to warm up the bench seat on the cold North East evening.
