]]>To be honest, the news is a bit of surprise, as I thought at first place that we will see a “Different” Luque this season. He has shown us what he can do during the pre-season games. He scores two goals against Celtics, and one more against the Italian side Juventus at St. James’ Park.
But after the signings of Alan Smith, and the good progress of both Milner and N’Zogbia, it seems that he is once again being sidelined by the new manager.
I feel very sorry for him, he’s actually a good player, and we haven’t got the chance to see his 100% efforts for Toon. His time on Tyneside was nothing but injury nightmares, which I think was not all his fault. I don’t think any player would love to get injured.
Luque, imho, was being sacrificed to free up funds for Sam Allardyce to buy at least 2 more players before the summer transfer door closed at the end of this month.
Farewell Luque, thanks for all you have done for Toon no matter how little it is, and goodluck with your new club!

]]>I remember two years ago when the first news about signing Luque from Deportivo, the expectation for this lad was so high until he’s been injured in his second appearance for Toon.
Luque made an impressive debut against Manchester United at St. James Park. From what I see, this lad showing great performance and almost scores for us with his nice volley effort. But, the luck was not on Luque side in his second game.
In his next game he suffered a hamstring injury while playing against Fulham. Since returning, he has been used in a number of roles for Newcastle United including left midfield, while his favorite position was as a striker or attacking midfield behind the two front men. Since that, he is failing to live up to his £9.5 Million price tag.
Now, with Allardyce in charge, Luque was on his attention to fix this lad performance and making him the one we have seen before at Málaga, Barcelona B-Team, Real Mallorca and Deportivo La Coruna.
Allardyce told the Evening Chronicle that he feel far too many players have got lost at Newcastle and he fells that this would be his responsibility to make sure that does not happen to any current member of the staff or any new player.
In his way to resurrect Luque’s carreer with Newcastle he added more that there has not been enough focus on what is happening in a player’s life away from the training ground and the club. Sam is believe that he will be able to resurrect his career at Newcastle.
