Sky reported yesterday that Newcastle chairman Chris Mort insists the club are fully behind manager Sam Allardyce.
Mort admits that the fans have every right to be unhappy after booing their side off the pitch following their under-par display against Liverpool. The Toon Army are growing restless after seeing their side slump to successive heavy home defeats, 4-1 to Portsmouth and 3-0 in Saturday against Liverpool.
The Guardian said, the chant ‘You don’t know what you’re doing’ is usually aimed at referees, or at least at opposing managers, but after his second half substitutions against Liverpool was loudly booed, with the jeers reaching a peak when he brought on James Milner (whom the crowd wanted) but withdrew Charles N’Zogbia.
Sam knew this was going to be difficult against Liverpool, but most disappointing from our point of view was the way our heads dropped after the second goal. We’ve got to dig ourselves out of this, show it’s just a blip rather than a disaster, but that won’t be easy when our next two games are against Blackburn and Arsenal.
Wait a minute, did he say that just a blip than a disaster? I thought he was saying ‘the next game hopefully will better’ since the Manchester City game last month, and the results after that are only going right against Everton and Spurs while the rests of our fixtures are totally failure, including the macKem match.
“That’s only what you expect here,” Allardyce said stoically. “Newcastle have lots of passionate supporters and they are quite within their rights to express disapproval if they have not enjoyed what they have seen. They paid their money and we did not do the job we are expected to do.”
It’s good if you finally realise that and please do something to help your-self and get the respect back from the Toon fans just like what you did at the start of the season. We are not dreamers, we’re not expecting us to won the Premiership this season, what we really want is to see a team with good will to play with spirit and passion, not a bunch of coward like last weekend.
I think that is your job to make it happen, am I right Mr. Allardyce?
