Coach Kris Glenwright gave debuts to two graduates from the FA Centre of Excellence, Sarah Eadon in goal and twin sister Stephanie up front who scores 4 goals on her debut for the second string, and was elected as MVP.
But it was two old schemers who warmed Geordie hearts within two minutes of the kick-off. Skipper Lisa Coleman picked up the ball just over the half way line and made a darting run up the right wing.
Her pinpoint cross picked out Melanie Reay who rose above the Stockport defence to head the ball past the Stockport keeper.
