We are all can saw it last Saturday on the match against Arsenal, it’s clearly that Newcastle is desperately in needs for a replacement of Jose Enrique and Andy Carroll if we want to maintain last season achievement and even take it further up to the European spot this season.

Although as my own personal thought, I’m not seeing Jose as a world class full back but he can do the job on his position better than anyone else we had at the moment.

The only name come-up from the press recently was the Dutch international left back Erik Pieters who currently played for PSV Eindhoven. From the press reports today, many have claimed that we increased the bid for Pieters up to £7m.

Pieters admitted that he (or his agent) was aware of Magpies interest, but also told journalists that his focus remained on family matters and was unable to confirm any possibility to join United.

Meanwhile another Toon target, Sochaux forward Modibo Maiga scored 15 league goals for Sochaux last season, has asked his club president Alexandre Lacombe to start negotiating with Newcastle United.

Mali international forward also have played alongside Arsenal’s new boy Gervinho while both are in Le Mans, told sports daily L’Equipe on Monday, “They (Newcastle) want me to come and I want it to be done with Newcastle.” and that “the president has to discuss and agree my transfer.”
