]]>When you like a team, however, you are often worried whether they will get the right transfers, sell or purchase new ones, depending on what the team needs. People even bet on this, following various types of betting strategies that they find fitting (note that not all bets can be placed for the same thing; for example draw no bet bets serve a different purpose than over/under bets…), because transfers are a large part of football. Some betters even go as far as finding promotional codes to make their betting easier and more affordable, like this Betway promo code.
Newcastle United is a team which also had its own fair share of transfers, expensive ones, at that. Here are the most expensive NCU transfers.
When purchasing players, clubs tend to pay much more than they would get for selling players, unless you have stars on your team, or players who rose to fandom and popularity while being on your team. Joelinton was purchased from Hoffenheim for 40 million pounds. That is a lot of money, beating the previous signing of 21 millions by almost double that. Joelinton played for Brazil and was capped at under 17. The club proudly posted on social media upon purchasing him and breaking their own record.
Miguel Almiron was bought just 6 months prior to Joelinton and had held the record for that much. He was the most expensive purchase that the Magpies had before purchasing Joelinton. He was bought for 21 million pounds, from Atlanta United. His first ten months weren’t the greatest, because he had an injury. Afterwards, he managed to pull through and show everyone why he was a great purchase.
Owen was purchased in 2005 from Real Madrid for 16 million pounds. His career wasn’t astonishing when he played for the Magpies. He had almost terrible four years, for a player of his caliber. Those four years were plagued with injuries and Owen, while still providing a lot to the team, couldn’t perform at his best.
Shearer made his dream come true when he joined Newcastle United in 1996, his home town. The previously played for Blackburn and always wanted to play for his hometown. He was bought for 15 million pounds. He remains, to this day, the top scorer of the Magpies.
Mitrovic was bought from Anderlecht for 14 million pounds in 2015. He was supposed to be a star player at the time, but due to the relatively poor performances, compared to what was expected of him, he went to Fulham on loan in 2018, after which the deal was made permanent.
These are some of the most expensive transfers that Newcastle United ever had. If the team gets more great players, you can expect the prices to go up, beating even the current record holder, Joelinton.

]]>Given that the time of the year is upon us, here is the shortlist, with the best players in each position.
It comes as no surprise that the 3 best goalkeepers are the ones belonging to the current 3 best teams in Europe, at least according to the 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League. Alisson Becker from Liverpool, Hugo Lloris from Tottenham Hotspur and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen from Barcelona are the 3 candidates for the award of best goalkeeper. They have certainly done their job during the season, though one would probably vote for Becker, because Liverpool is the 2019 champion.
Goalkeepers are only as good as their defenders are. If you allow an opposing striker to get a clear shot at your goal, then you’re doing something wrong. Virgil van Dijk and Trent-Alexander Arnold from Liverpool, and Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax and currently Juventus are the candidates for the title of best defender. Again, Liverpool most likely had the best defence, given their position in the tournament, but who the winner is, we will have to wait and see.
Midfielders are everywhere, both helping in defence and enabling forwards to do their thing and score goals. The best 3 midfielders are Frankie de Jong of Ajax and currently Barcelona, Jordan Henderson of Liverpool and Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur. Either of the 3 is a good choice but Liverpool players always have a slight edge.
When it comes to forwards all that matters is how many goals they scored. The top 3 forwards are Sadio Mane from Liverpool and none other than Lionel Messi from Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus. The latter two make almost any best of forward list, but Mane is also looking to be a strong contender.
The Europa League also had its shining lights. The 3 best football players from the Europa League are Luka Jovic, formerly of Eintracht Frankfurt and now playing for Real Madrid CF, Eden Hazard, formerly of Chelsea, currently in Real Madrid, and Olivier Giroud, currently playing for Chelsea.
These are the best players nominated for their respective positions. Who will win remains to be seen. Liverpool players are being looked at, but you can’t take your eyes off Messi and Ronaldno, either.

]]>“It’s answered the critics we have had over last four weeks and it was a great performance in the second half and a great result.” Steve McClaren said on the BBC site,
“That is what we are, a bedrock of discipline and hard work. We have talented players, and they know how to win, we just have to do it consistently.”
Just before this game, United was in the bottom three and while under severe pressure McClaren knew that he had to turn it around to lift Newcastle out into 15th place, one place ahead of champions Chelsea who will face Leicester City on Monday.
Newcastle have won all of our last three league visits to White Hart Lane, and now it’s Aston Villa on Saturday in a game which McClaren see to consolidate United’s Premier League position before Christmas.

]]>Fletcher’s goal early in the first half was probably the sign of what coming up next or to decide the way of the game, but Newcastle regained the more possessions and attempts in the first half, but sad to say all of the works are none of them causing any serious damage to the mackems defense.
I noticed some players that were down below par, Yoan Gouffran in particularly has nothing to do in the first half while Ben Arfa seems to a little bit confusing of wheter he will take the ball up or pass it to his team mates.
Our front man looks lonely up there, Remy is look like an average player with not much support from our midfield men and both wings.
In defense, without Coloccini, we are really vurnerable with Dummet in as his replacement was far from our skipper’s experience, as shown in the process of Fletcher’s first goal.
In the second half, there’s a little hope when Debuchy marks his first goal for Newcastle to make it 1-1, but imho, the replacement of Gouffran with Cisse was not Pardew’s good move, he should have added in the mackem’s slayer earlier instead of Cisse.
It proves that Newcastle’s worst ever number 9 for the last two seasons is still not having back what he was at the first time we signed him.
At last and to be honest, I must give credits to the mackems for their efforts today and they deserved the win because we are not in the form for this big event, maybe we are still in euphoria of the Liverpool’s match or the lads are just gave away this game to our “beloved” enemies so we will have another derby coming in next season.

]]>Ben Arfa once again our man of the match imho, while on the ball he’s very dangerous with his movement and pace, and one golden opportunity has successfully converted into goal in 18th minutes. This is what made our fans happy – as many of our fans placed a bet or two on him /our team. Luckily, even if they placed a draw no bet type of bet, they didn’t lose!
After the lead, it seems that we were a bit vurnerable while under pressure, our back four were struggling defensively and almost get caught by Agbonlahor in the start of second-half.
Newcastle’s regained the attacking dominance shortly with Remy and Ben Arfa blistering pace are continuing to torment the home side. Ben Arfa denied his second while his curling effort was saved by Brad Guzan’s.
But after Remy being brought off with Gouffran coming on in his place, we are once again under pressure and Benteke levelled with a bullet header.
Thanks to Yoan Gouffran who takes us back in the lead in 73rd minutes after taking the advantage from Ben Arfa’s fierce left-foot shot that can only parried by Guzan.
We could have couple more goals, with Cisse and Ben Arfa both are going close.
The verdict, I can see some improvement going in the squad and hopefully this team can keep the team spirit and stay free of injuries at least until the next transfer window re-open in January next year.
Tiotte is back in the game, while Cabaye is still not in his best performance but soon he will be. In defense I think we still have plenty of work to do, as well as to bring Cisse’s killer instinct back.
