]]>The 25-year-old’s diplomatic stance may concern Newcastle fans, who aimed to rally around the player in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Birmingham in an attempt to assure him that his future lies on Tyneside.
However, Enrique hinted to those placing free bet that if manager Alan Pardew is allowed to invest a significant amount of the £35million transfer fee paid to the club by Liverpool for Andy Carroll, it would encourage him to stay at St James’ Park.
He told the Evening Chronicle: “It is always nice to hear that (the fans cheering him), but we will see what happens. The most important thing is the team. I know the fans like me a lot, but we will see.”
“Next season we will hopefully get new players and try to build on a top-10 finish.
“It would be very nice for us to finish ahead of Sunderland,” he added.
“I remember they were happy to see us go down, but now we are in the Premier League and we have been better than them so far – it’s important we keep going.”
Meanwhile, he insisted that he is only focussing on ending the season on a high with the Magpies.
“To finish in the top 10 is important this season,” Enrique added. “We will see what happens next year and which players come to us. We have a great squad here though, and we have been very unlucky with injuries.”
With Enrique stalling on a new deal with Newcastle, the club may be forced to sell before risking losing him on a free transfer further down the line.
Liverpool Director of Football Damien Comolli is thought to have earmarked Enrique as the answer to the club’s left-back problems, with manager Kenny Dalglish being forced to utilise Glen Johnson, Daniel Agger and youngster Jack Robinson there in weeks.
Argentine Emiliano Insua and Paul Konchesky’s Anfield careers appear to be over, while Fabio Aurelio’s injury problems could see his second stint at the club cut short.
Rumours surfacing amongst those regularly placing a free bet in recent days have linked Konchesky with a move to St James’ Park in a player-plus-cash deal for Enrique, though neither club has commented.
Respected Spanish journalist Guillem Ballague recently posted on Twitter that a left-back is among the club’s wish list as they aim to produce a major rework of their squad in the summer.

]]>Football betting pundits note how midfielder Joey Barton and defender Jose Enrique are both out of contract in the summer with a whole host of clubs chasing their signatures following impressive performances in the top flight.
Barton, who originally said he would sign a new deal if Nolan did, should keep to his word and renew his contract in the summer while Enrique’s future remains in doubt as he continues to be strongly linked with a move to Liverpool.
The Spanish defender played a major role in his side’s promotion back to the Premier League and has continued to excel this season as Newcastle cemented their top-flight status.
Barton and Nolan have formed a formidable partnership with an energetic and aggressive approach that has given Pardew’s side steel and determination in the midfield region.
Pardew not only needs his current players to pledge their future’s to the club but he also has a huge task in the summer to try and attract players to St James Park with the money raised from Andy Carroll’s £35 million move to Liverpool.
His number one priority has to be signing a striker following this season’s lack of activity in front of goal. After Carroll’s departure to Anfield and Shola Ameobi’s facial injury, the Toon Army’s striking options were limited with Pardew having only youngster Nile Ranger, untried Leon Best, out-of-position Peter Lovenkrands and veteran Shefki Kuqi, who signed until the end of the season, at his disposal.
Newcastle’s strike force lacked fire power and a striker who could find the net on a regular basis which ended any hope of progression into the Europa League places this season. They relied too heavily on the contribution of Nolan, who is the club’s leading scorer with 12 and when he was absent, it showed.
It is unknown how much of the £35 million raised from Carroll’s sale Pardew will get to spend, but it is needed to be spent wisely if Newcastle are to emulate this season. Those looking to win football bets will agree that a couple of strikers, a winger, a central midfielder and a defender would see Pardew’s squad improve drastically.
If Pardew can tie Barton and Enrique down to new deals and bring in some quality new additions, Newcastle will have a decent squad to make an assault on the Europa League places.

And for this new post, I want to give him huge deserved credits for keeping his concentration all the way up until the very end of the game before finally being booked at the death of injury time.
The game itself was a breathtaking one and without high tempo both teams creating some dangerous chances but only two goals were finally created. And spealing about the goal chances, I think we have the better numbers than the home team has.
We should have gone 2 goals ahead in first half, just if Carroll and Nollan took their half-chances well. Actually Carroll should have another hattrick today, and one great chance has gone off but only produced a yellow card which I think a little too harsh for him.
Then from a good corner kick, the home team also have one decent chance with wolves striker Ebanks-Blake headed the ball into the bar, and when the second chance coming on his way he took it very well to give his side the lead. And for his goal, I think our defenders are a bit sleepy in the box and should have done better to keep him in tight position.
The second half started with us going up for the equalizing goal, with wolves several attacking break also producing couple of dangerous moments, but it’s Carroll who took his chance very well this time to booked his fourth premierships goal this season.
All in all, a good game to watch with plenty of yellow cards flying out of the referee pocket, and I think a draw is a good result for us. Can’t wait to watch Tiote playing in midfield for us in two weeks time after the international break next Saturday, as i think he would get his work permit shortly.

]]>No wins in seven games, Keegan will try again to steer the Magpies clear of the top flight danger zone today. Currently we are just three points away from the bottom three and if we lose today’s match, it’s possible that we will be on the bottom three by the time we play Birmingham next week.
Meanwhile, Newcastle left-back Jose Enrique is determined to come out on top against Liverpool’s Spanish contingent. Enrique knows very well about Jose Reina, Xabi Alonso and Fernando Torres. He also alert of the threat he will pose having come up against the £26.5m Liverpool’s frontman Torres.
Currently, Torres has been in the hot form for the Merseysiders, firing repeated hat-tricks in the Kop’s last two home games.
“I have played against Fernando in La Liga during my time at Villarreal,” explained the Spain under-21 star. “He was still with Athletico Madrid then and he did very well. He is quick and scores goals, he will be a threat to us at the weekend.”
Newcastle will travel to Anfield without Emre, Viduka, Carr and goalkeeper Shay Given, while the home side will be waiting for Javier Mascherano progress of his dead leg injury.
For Keegan, the Liverpool match is always something special. Having won twice against them during his first reign at United, he said that It would be nice to do the same (win) again but he knows well that’s not going to be an easy game.
“That’s why we will go there expecting to come home with something – and we are going to have a go and make sure we give them a good game.” Keegan said quoted from the official site.
“And don’t forget we are going there after what we all thought was a very encouraging performance against Blackburn Rovers last Saturday.” He added more, “Yes, Liverpool have a strong squad, but when haven’t they?”

]]>The post Obafemi Martins New Contract Deal Until 2013 appeared first on Magpieszone.
]]>He is currently away on Africa Cup of Nations duty, with three-and-a-half years of his current contract, but Mike Ashley has sanctioned a two-year extension to Martins’ contract and a fifty per-cent rise from his current wages to £90,000 per week.
As part of the deal, Martins has agreed to forfeit his £13m release clause, which cause him as the subject of many transfer speculation this season with moves to Inter Milan, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester City.
Martins has basically suffered from mismanagement. Allardyce didn’t really know how to play him, that much was obvious. Roeder managed a little better. Keegan will instantly suss it out. Martins possesses deadly pace and the ability to hit a fierce shot.
He will be encouraged to make use of that ability without fear of his manager shouting, and King Kev will get his wingers to time their passes to him as Martins bombs on.
If there is one player bound to benefit from the Keegan effect, it is Obafemi Martins. Let’s face it, he’s a potential we have glimpsed.
Meanwhile, Steven Taylor will also ready to sign a new contract with United very soon after rejected a five-year offer in September.
