Chris Waddle Opinion On Allardyce

Former Toon favorite Chris Waddle hits out the media and “Boo Boys” fans’ treatment of Sam Allardyce. Waddle said we all know what Newcastle fans want, and that’s entertaining football and flair, but chopping and changing all the time doesn’t earn success, it’s ridiculous.

“He has had selection problems because he has had to deal with a lot of injuries, and he has to be given a chance to find a settled side. I don’t know that he’s been able to put out his first choice XI once this season.”

Waddle said, “Maybe, if things are the same a year from now and Newcastle are still struggling this time next season, something will have to give. But it is far too early to be talking about sacking him now.”

Ahead of tomorrow clash with Arsenal, Allardyce said that he is having more less of sleep than he has before. He said that he nearly have enough sleep each season and the way you are going to go about your job is very important in terms of the people who look up to see if they get the leadership they need to pull them through it every season.

“I have got to reinforce that with the players and show them the way forward, and they have got to keep believing in themselves and us as a unit and come through the difficult period we are in.”

More from Chris Waddle, it is the style of football that has brought most criticism from Newcastle fans. According to his personal opinion, some teams are built solely around winning like Chelsea, but others – like Newcastle, Tottenham or Manchester United – are built around good, entertaining football.

“He has had selection problems because he has had to deal with a lot of injuries, and he has to be given a chance to find a settled side. I don’t know that he’s been able to put out his first choice XI once this season.”

“Maybe, if things are the same a year from now and Newcastle are still struggling this time next season, something will have to give. But it is far too early to be talking about sacking him now.”

Allardyce has a plan to stop Wenger’s side, that is if the players can make the most of whatever possession they have, and working out whatever the game plan he’s asking United players to do with on field.

Arsenal – three points clear at the top of the Premier League – go into the game having won just one of their last five games at Newcastle. Allardyce has some success story with Bolton against Arsene Wenger’s side at the Reebok Stadium and tomorrow’s blueprint for playing the Gunners at home according to Wenger felt was overly physical appointment.
