“We are a club who can go and get big players if they are the right players. We can do that,” said Keegan, quoted from the Northern Echo. “But we have to look at the situation in reality. We’ve got just over a week left of the transfer window and realistically a lot of players don’t move at this time of year.”

“When the African guys come back, and the guys who are suspended come back, we’ll have a strong squad if we can get one or two in. That’s what you need in the Premier League.” Keegan added more.

From various media sources claimed Wayne Bridge, Nicky Shorey, Sol Campbell, Richard Dunne and Daniel van Buyten on his list of possibilities, while King Kev latest target the City full-back Micah Richards has spark the possibility of a new boom in player wages.

The 19-year-old England defender Richards, still to sign a new deal at Manchester City, and with his new contract deal for the Eriksson side is still not meet his ‘standard’, the Mail said Keegan, backed by Ashley’s money and an offer in the region of £70,000 a week, is ready to move.
