Finally the Fat Lady Sing, the official club has announced the signing of Ben Tozer to Newcastle United this morning, in a four-and-a-half year contract. Tozer is the club first official January transfer signing and the rumours out there still have numerous names to follow him this month.

“I was called into the manager's office three or four weeks ago and he said that the club had accepted an offer from Newcastle,” Tozer told as quoted from the official site, “I could not believe it and straight away I said that I could not turn the offer down.”

“Newcastle is a massive club with great fans, it's a lovely place with nice people and I can't wait to get started.” He added more, “I've spoken with Sam Allardyce, he's great manager and I'm looking forward to working with him.”

Yeah right, we are lovely and nice supporters Ben, but it is only if you can make us to do so. There're bunch of Toon new signings who said exactly like you did today, but only little of them who really can win our heart, I hope you are one of those very few players in Black-and-Whites.

Tozer, born in Plymouth and began his career as a youth player at his local club Plymouth Argyle. His former coach at Argyle, David Byrne, persuaded his family to allow Ben to join him at Swindon Town.

He is later signed for Swindon in the summer of 2007 alongside fellow Argyle youngster Ben Joyce.

Made a surprise full debut for Swindon on August 14 in the Carling Cup match with Charlton and granted the other seven appearance in Town's first team before having a trial with Everton.

“It's been a brilliant experience at Swindon and I thank them for what they've done for me but I'm looking forward to the future.”
