Although this was just a point, their performance was a huge boost and matter the most for everyone within black-and-white tradition. The performance that ease the pain of the Liverpool and Portsmouth fixtures.

“We were disappointed not to win the game. To say that against a side who are top of the table and playing very well is incredible.” Milner said “It was important we did not rest on anything, and now we have to take what we did at Blackburn and in the Arsenal game into Birmingham.”

James Milner revealed he and his team-mates have start to “play for the black-and-white shirt”. He put in a superb showing and piled on the problems for the most of Arsenal back four.

Last night was his fifth senior goals for United and it would have been a real celebrations when he almost grabbed a late winner.

“I nearly scored again late on but Emmanuel Eboue got it over his own crossbar. I don’t know how he did that. It could have been an own goal, and I was disappointed with that.” He added more, “But it was a good team performance from everybody, and we had some great chances”
