Keegan To Tamed Barton and Get The Very Best From Him

April 2nd, 2008 by shearyadi

Joey Barton is well known to his wild behaviour, and even marked as one of the premierships Bad Boys. He’s banned to play in Merseyside, facing a trail that could bring him into jail and was not so popular among the Toon Army for months after signing for Newcastle from Manchester City last summer.

But that was he is before Keegan came. It was somebody’s past, an old story of Joey and hopefully he is now what he has shown last Sunday at White Hart Lane. Joey Barton is reborn.

King Keegan believes his performance at Spurs on Sunday was the best he has ever seen from the United midfielder. The 25-year-old’s all-action display during the 4-1 victory at White Hart Lane was the most impressive performance ever and Keegan also admit as the game went on he will definetely just got stronger and stronger.

“I said to him afterwards, ‘That’s the best I have seen you play’.” Said Keegan at the official site, “He had some very good games for me at Man City but I don’t think I have ever seen him as outstanding as that.”

“He was winning tackles, bursting forward and picking out passes and it was his work which set up Oba for the fourth goal.” Keegan added more “And credit to him, he has got some problems off the field which are well documented, but he has come in and trained properly and worked hard and is reaping the rewards now.”

My mate Gallowgate Jim said Joey Barton’s ‘best’ is not an issue for debate. He didn’t just show potential at City. He didn’t just ’show signs’ of one day becoming a good player. He WAS a class act. They were a poor side and he kept them up more or less by himself.

There are plenty of excellent midfielders. But very few of his type. He’s in the Steven Gerrard plus Frank Lampard category -The no frills, total efficiency category.

Completely different to the likes of Alonso, Arteta who are also excellent midfielders in a different way. I’m not saying he’s as good as those two. But he plays a similar game. Good first touch, look up, bang.

This isn’t off the back of one or two good performances. It’s on the basis of a whole season at City where his assists/goals ranked alongside Gerrard and Lampard.

His ability has never been in doubt. It was always an issue of whether we could get him playing like that again. Now there are clear signs that he’s getting back to his best. Every week since Keegan came in and gave him a clean slate he’s improved. Just wait till he starts scoring.

Now What You Would Say About Kevin Keegan?

March 31st, 2008 by shearyadi

I know we are just having two wins since he made the shocking return to English football league, and most of the media and those who commited themself as the football expert have been said he made a big mistake and he will failed again because the game is now totally different than his previous years with Newcastle. I’m telling you, they are totally wrong about King Kev.

Interesting how the media can make such a different opinions after we start to win things around and also, although some of their previous report are maybe 75% are telling the truth about United situation, but I still thought that it was really unfair to make such an early judgement that he could fail and soon to get sacked again.

imageNow, I have read today that the papers are started to praise him as he is soon to be the next Premierships master of tactician, funny isn’t it? Well, let’s hear what Keegan said in an interview taken from footballaudio.com by clicking on the image on the left.

And then, I only want to quote some of what the papers said here, I will let you decide whether they have been telling you the truth or another false commentary from their own typical market oriented journalism, other than that let’s enjoy our win and continuing to perform on this Saturday at home against Reading, time for a sweet revenge of what they did to us in our first meeting with them :)

the Journal Live
For those who may find such a statement a little melodramatic it was at least the day when, having stuttered and spluttered since Keegan returned, the Magpies not only buried Tottenham Hotspur on their own turf but their relegation fears with it.

the Independent
Hilarious as many outsiders have found Tyneside’s footballing soap opera this season, all neutrals should be cheered by events at White Hart Lane yesterday. It was not just the improbable result, which should ensure Newcastle United remain in the Premier League next season, but the performance. A scintillating second-half display evoked echoes of Kevin Keegan’s glorious first spell as commander of the Toon Army. Assuming chairman Mike Ashley invests this summer, maybe, just maybe, “The Messiah” can justify the hype which accompanied his return in January.

Telegraph.co.uk
Kevin Keegan has been called many things during his colourful managerial career but rarely a master tactician. At White Hart Lane yesterday, he outwitted the wily Juande Ramos as completely as his team outplayed Tottenham.

What the Papers Said, Latest Newcastle’s Rumours

March 25th, 2008 by shearyadi

Don’t take what you read seriously though, but some of you may interested to know what’s going on recently with Newcastle and what the papers said about Keegan’s possible signing in the summer.

First of all, I have read on two Newcastle supporters forum a news about Mike Ashley lost millions of pounds on a share bet on Halifax Bank of Scotland. According to the Press Association, Mike has nursing losses running into tens of millions of pounds.

The news was something that other cheap scumbags media will love to spread and make their own versions from it. One of those is, no surprise, coming from the Sun who make a report that Ashley could be prepared to sell Newcastle United for the right price.

The Northern Echo writes Dubai International Capital - who have been trying to buy Liverpool - are known to be considering an approach, while there were also recent suggestions that a locally-based consortium was trying to get Alan Shearer to front a takeover.

Personaly I don’t believe what those papers said, but, if they actually telling the truth, the sooner we know Mike Ashley’s “True Colors” the better.

Now the news about Toon future signings from various media. Gazette write about Keegan preparing to make a new bid of around £2m in the summer. for Manchester United’s Mikael Silvestre. 30-year-old French International has been reported to close to full fitness, and already made return to the Red devils reserve side in a friendly clash at Bolton Wanderers in midweek.

He was having a badly knee injury while playing for ManU side against Everton at Goodison Park back in September, and I think Keegan was smart enough to not making approach for any player with injury record as bad as Silvestre. He will build a totally new, fresh and strongest Newcastle United squad and definetely not making Toon as the recycle bin for other premier league teams.

Meanwhile, the appointment of Newcastle new chief scout Lil Fuccillo following the departure of former chief Steve Walsh has made all Toon’s administrative role was being operated from the capital. Tony Jimenez, Jeff Vetere and now Lil Fuccillo are all operate from around London.

Fucillo currently spotted been checking on two Championship side team in search for any Toon new signing prospects. He was at Hillsborough last Saturday to be watching Wednesday’s 18-year-old centre half Mark Beevers, and Palace’s 17-year-old striker Sean Scannell. Both are playing in Sheffield Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Cystal Palace.
