Ben Tozer’s End of Story, Welcome To The Club!

December 21st, 2007 by shearyadi

This is the end of any speculations and finally the ‘Fat Lady Sings’. Newcastle will pay League One club Swindon Town an initial transfer fee of £250,000 for his services. Tozer will be Sam Allardyce second secret signings after securing the transfer of Wesley Ngo Baheng from Le Havre in October.

The Plymouth born left-back Ben Tozer who is just turn 17 this year will signed for Newcastle on additional fees depending on appearance £1,1 milions in January. Big Sam rated him as the future of Newcastle United and will assigned him immediately until the end of the season on loan.

Allardyce reputation on his ability to scout foreign players as well as any youngsters who are available is now on the test at Tyneside. He has brought in the likes of Jay Jay Okocha, Tal Ben Haim into the English Premier League. Under his guidance, young Kevin Nolan made it to the full England squad while Nicky Hunt was Under 21s regular.

On the summer he has signed Brazilian Cacapa from Olympique Lyon and he has been quite good addition to United’s defence. Bobby Moncur hails him as the one that Newcastle United been looking for and believe his ability and experience will bring a new dimension.

In the case of Ben Tozer’s potential to hit big for United, only time will tell as he is still a teenager, although many believe that there were at least three other Premier League clubs also looking to sign him, Portsmouth, Everton and the other one (Newcastle?). He spents couple of weeks with the Blues from Merseyside on trial and David Moyes reported being impressed to come in with a bid.

Sam Allardyce decision to loan him is a good one to make him ready for some “pressure” he never been imagine before when playing for a team like Newcastle. Allardyce hinted a player like Tozer can continue to improve that way. The word from some of Swindon’s supporter saying that there isn’t any doubt that Tozer will make it.

Welcome to the club Tozer! I hope you will become as good as the press told about you. Still plenty of months will come to indicate how far away you will doing good for the Mighty Magpies. There’s not an easy way but if you can handle it, you will have the heaven on earth while playing infront of the Toon Army.

Town Boy Come to Toon for (just) Series of Tests

This is still not officially confirmed yet, but if you want to have a laugh at me, go ahead. According to Chronicle Allardyce’s renowned backroom staff will work on Tozer, and the young defender will have to undergo a series of fitness and other tests before he actually signs.

With Everton and Portsmouth reporting to have the same interest for this 17 years-old full back who can play as left and central defender, Tozer being rated as the most talented prospect in this country.

Maybe yes, maybe not. I think the deal so far was only on the paper as a pre-contract not a permanent switch as the transfer windows still not open yet.

Big Sam speaks for the first time about the speculations on Chronicle today and mark him as obviously one for the future.

“And yes, there is a possibility Ben will be allowed to go out on loan. But first we want him to stay here for two or three weeks so that we can look and him and he can look at us.”

Ben Tozer has only played one handful of game for the Swindon Town first-team this season, and will not be considered for first-team action by Sam Allardyce. United gaffer still hopes to land Manchester United Wes Brown on loan deal next month.

Meanwhile, for the Tozer’s bandwagon member here’s the link for his beboo member page.

Newcastle United Want Tozer?

December 17th, 2007 by shearyadi

Maybe I was wrong about his talent, and he was more better than a lozer although according to some of Town’s supporter Ben is not even better for a League One side.

For the last couple days, maybe this blog is the only one who feels that the speculation about the signing of 17 years-old left back from Swindon Town is actually just a rumour and he is not really having a contract negotiation today. I know that the Official site is always late when reporting something, but the press not.

But, until the fat lady sing I’m still not buy it. Sam Allardyce also said today that he will not be panicked into making any rush buys in the January transfer window, and didn’t see why he must do it today either. He realise about the effects of African Cup will have on his present squad, but he will see any loan players are he most suitable for him next month.

image“There is only one focus: the players have to be better than what we have already got,” said Allardyce quoted from the Journal. He also deny any reports to have in touch with Manchester City regarding Owen’s situation yesterday.

“If you sign a player with the purpose of covering for another player that generally means you rarely use them because they are not up to the required Premier League level. You have to be careful.” Allardyce added more.

“This is the most difficult window to deal in and I keep saying this, it is a hugely flawed system. It stops me progressing the club, it stops me being more successful and it stops you at critical times overcoming injury problems in what can be crucial positions.”

As many have known before, Chris Mort insists there will be no more funds for Big Sam in January, and although Mr. Mort will backing Allardyce all the way down, he has give the command that Allardyce should use what he has now at the club before the Newcastle’s board giving him another green light to buy.

“There will be huge speculation on who is coming in or (going) out and another one has popped up which is an utter load of rubbish, which is Michael Owen.”

Big Sam have also mentioned about if he is going to buy any new players when the money finally being released, he will go and find the one in this country who have the Premier League experience so it is not going to be another mistake.
