Nothing is certain, but to tell he’s going to leave at this (what the paper say) “the very lowest point” on his career is something not very wise for his record.

Although the news are saying Given’s lawyer Michael Kennedy has took the unusual step of issuing a statement on his client’s behalf, Joe Kinnear was refusing last night that Shay Given wants to leave Tyneside.

Times reporting about Kinnear claimed that Given had told him yesterday morning that he wanted to remain at Newcastle and accused Kennedy of releasing the statement without his client’s approval. Kinnear also said that he and Given has been discussed the future over a cup of coffee at Newcastle’s training ground yesterday morning.

Also from the Times online, Kinnear said: “We actually rung the guy who made the statement and asked him why he put it out. He said he was aware that these clubs were interested in Shay. He told me that is what he read in the papers and he acted accordingly.”

Acted accordingly? I think that Kennedy ‘acted accordingly’ was because there were potentially big cash on his pocket if Shay is actually leaving Tyneside to any of three clubs that are said to be interested on him.

Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham are those three clubs that being linked with Shay if he does leave. But, Arsene Wenger has said he’s not going to buy a new goalkeeper on January transfer window.

Meanwhile, United will travel to Hull City for today’s FA Cup Third Round clash with a good record at third stage of the competition during Newcastle’s Premier League years. The Magpies have only lost just one Third Round tie since returning to the top flight in 1993.

Newcastle United’s future goalkeepers Tim Krul and Fraser Forster are both predicted to have the same battle as the current number one Shay Given and his deputy Steve Harper.

Newcastle United reserve-team boss Lee Clark said that the current reserve goallie Fraser has been fantastic and progressed a lot in the last 18 months.

While Tim Krul is getting rave reviews at Falkirk on his loan spell, Forster recently is developing very well and will be looking to move up another level and could follow the Dutch young goalkeeper on another loan spell somewhere in January.

“He’s got two great examples in Shay and Harper to look up to as well as in Terry Gennoe and Adam Sadler, our goalkeeping coaches.” Said Clark.

Clark said that the future of Newcastle United is already seen today in both Fraser and Krul. The two gigantic goalie is the most greatest assets for United’ future as well as Andy Carroll.

Furthermore, Clark said that at the moment in first team level we have two top keepers battling it out to be the Toon number 1 goalie.

The same thing happened in the reserve squad. We have two great keepers now and the future looks good as well.

Tim will be back in January and we might switch things round a bit and Fraser may go out on loan while Tim will play for the reserves.

“Going on loan would help Fraser to improve all parts of his game and it is important for us to have the competition in the side for keepers in the early stage.”

Shay Given knows that only good performance that can keep his place as Newcastle United number one goalkeeper. After having another two caps for United last week, he is willing to work harder to retain his place.

Given recents come back for Newcastle both are end-up with defeats for Newcastle United. Last week on Tuesday, he was conceded two goals against Arsenal on the Carling Cup and three more goals against Manchester City last week-end.

But, on my opinion, his performance at the CoM Stadium was not bad at all. He has several good saves from both Elano and Petrov efforts. As for the goals, I don’t think any goalkeepers in the world can save all those three.

“I was delighted to be recalled and was very happy when the gaffer named the team,” the Republic of Ireland star told the official site.

He also feels sorry for his team mate Steve Harper who have been impressive on several Toon matches. It was clearly that Harper looks disappointed for being on the bench again last Saturday.

Sam Allardyce already understood that we have two high quality goalkeepers and that was a bonus for the team. Whoever installed as the goallie on each Newcastle match, we can assured that we have at least the finests last Toon wall.

Interesting to watch on next Sunday against Everton, who is between them that would be Big Sam choice to guard our goal.
