United Chasing United’s Defender in January

December 13th, 2007 by shearyadi

After hearing the player was rejecting a new contract offer from the Red Devils, United will try to persuade Manchester United defender Wes Brown in January transfer window.

Although Sir Alex said Brown was not for sale, the player himself and his advisers sounding an interest in a move to Newcastle. Whenever the transfer is finally made possible, he could link up with two former team-mates, Nicky Butt and Alan Smith.

The Journal report today Brown also attracted interest from macKem land. In my honest opinion, Brown would prefered a move to the Tyne side rather drop down with macKems.

More from the Journal, it was rumoured that Brown even discussed the possibility of a move to St James’s Park with Michael Owen and Kieron Dyer during the England’s summer internationals.

Big Sam is still believe he will get him following Brown’s decision not to sign Manchester United’s final contract offer last week. His present deal expires in June, means he is free to negotiate under Bosman’s transfer rule in January. Allardyce hoping to bring Wes up to North by offering Manchester United around £3m during the next transfer window. Brown has won 14 caps for England.

Allardyce seeing Brown as an ideal signing because of his vast Premier League experience. But according to the ManUtd fans site, Wes Brown has the weakness in his temperament who can occasionally lose concentration in the “big” games and get panic. He is also injury prone, been severely hampered by bad injuries.

Meanwhile, they also describe the strengths of 6 feet tall player which is his heading and one of the fastest defenders around and will not be outrun by quick forwards.

If Sam Allardyce finally offering a genuine transfer request to Sir Alex Ferguson, that would be the end of speculations about Brazilian Edmilson moves to Newcastle from FC Barcelona.

Style of Football Doesn’t Matter For Toon

December 12th, 2007 by shearyadi

Newcastle United legendary defender Bobby Moncur revealed that style of football will always come second place to picking up victories at St James’s Park.

United picking up the first win since October 22 last weekend, and Toon legend Moncur was ecstatic to see Newcastle look to have turned a corner. He also hopes Sam Allardyce’s side can build on another victory like they did against Birmingham when they head to Fulham.

image“The Birmingham game was, for me, a better performance and despite the weather a lot more fluent than it looked.” Bobby told the Chronicle, “We had 17 pops at goal during the game, had six corners and have picked up the three points, and I defy anybody who says they’d rather see a pretty passing game ahead of winning matches.”

Moncur is now hoping Newcastle players can repay the loyal Toon Army ahead of their visit to Craven Cottage and to repeat the sparkling performance from the away section at Blackburn last time out. United only have one win away on the opening game of the season at Reebok stadium.

“The fans were magnificent at Ewood Park and they really did get behind the team. The players responded to that and, as always, I know they will do it again at Fulham.”

We Are On the Way To The Most Successful Newcastle United

December 9th, 2007 by shearyadi

We have been through the stormy and cold tyneside weather for the last couple of months. United supporters finally realise the way of success is not happening in 15 or 16 games in one season, and start to “Just Read It and Laugh” to any speculations about the Toon from the press.

Recently, Nicky Butt has urged the club (and supporters) not to sack Sam Allardyce. The Magpies recorded their first win since the victory over Tottenham in October thanks to Habib Beye’s header, but it has not stopped the debate about Allardyce’s future at the club.

Debate, what debate?
Sky reporting today, there have been rumblings of discontent around St James’ Park after a disappointing start to the season. Correct me if I’m wrong, actually we have the more successful start of the campaign for the last 10 years. Allardyce’s position has been questioned, despite only taking up the Newcastle reins in the summer.

True, Big Sam has been questioned about it for the last couple of weeks, but recently all the questions have got the answers.

Nicky Butt - one of United’s player who has played under four different managers since his move from Manchester United in 2004 - is hoping Big Sam can do a replicate of the successful set-up at his old club.

“The culture of sacking managers doesn’t work,” said Butt. “When you look around at top teams such as Arsenal and Manchester United the managers have been there for a lot of years and have created stability.”

He said more on SkySports site and give an example of how the current top two teams of the Premier League table has been through before getting the shape of they are today.

Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson have been there for long time and with a support from their management and supporters through thick and thin, finally they get it right. Butt said, they can do that because their manager can learn the ins and outs of the club.

“The last few weeks have hurt us,” Butt added. “Things have been reported that have upset the players and the manager. It wasn’t true and cut deep and put everyone under pressure.”

The Geordie boy Steve Bruce said the pressure under Big Sam was ridiculous. Bruce questioned back “What on earth is all that about” He said Allardyce only been four months as Newcastle manager.

“He has proved beyond doubt he is a good manager and he will turn Newcastle around. For goodness sake, give the geezer a chance. This is the crazy side of the game.”
