Not so HOT: ManU bid for Martins?

August 21st, 2007 by shearyadi

22-year-old Obafemi Martins is one of a number of frontmen to be linked with the Premier League champions, who have taken just two points from their first three games, which is probably the worst season start for them.

From their last three games, Manchester United have only scored one goal courtesy of Paul Scholes’ strike at Portsmouth, and with Wayne Rooney out for around seven more weeks with a fractured metatarsal and other ex-Toon lad, Louis Saha is still struggling for full fitness, manager Sir Alex Ferguson is being reported have plan to launch a bid for Toon last season top scorer.

Many Toon believer will not buy the story, it is widely believe that Martins is not the type of player in which SAF would intend to buy. Fergusson will look for a more taller and robust striker than the diminutive and pacy Martins, a shape for which either Anelka, Cole or Berbatov would be a better choice.

NO WAY! We will not let Martins Go at any price, but Dyer May Go

August 4th, 2007 by shearyadi

Sam Allardyce has made it clear today that he wants to hold on to Martins (22) who has a clause in his present deal which allows him to join another club for £13 million.

Speaking about the crazy news written by ’someone’ which is very well know because his "Extra Ordinary" quotes and comments, Allardyce has made it clear that the news was completely and utterly fabrication story.

The fact is the Official Club now is preparing a new contract for both Martins and Owen, with ’NO’ clause at all. Both players already commited their future lies with Newcastle United and will be happy to sign the new contract.

"I am a Newcastle player and my part is to score goals for Newcastle and I am happy to be doing that." Martins said. "I scored 17 goals last season so this season maybe I should be looking at doing better than that"

Meanwhile, there are some news about angry ’Supporter’ that has put life even harder for Kieron Dyer to stay at Toon.

The new chairman expressed his concerns about the "egg" accident happening to Dyer’s house as something that shouldn’t repeated again. More of that, he says that the accident can have a negative effect on the efforts to signing new players as they will think that the Toon Army was not so friendly fans.

I have to agree on that with Chris Mort, although I have been upset on the way Dyer’s handle some of his game with Newcastle or how he refused to play in different positions, but as a human, I can understand his reasons behind his transfer request. We, as the supporter has to accept that, and like I have said many times, we better to have player who realy want to play for Newcastle with his "heart".
