Newcastle United looking very good on the season opening match
To be honest, I was a little bit of scared before the kick-off. Compares to them, we are the small David against the Goliath today but the smartest side “won” the game, and Newcastle surely deserve more than that.
Keegan handed a full Premierships debut to all of our three new signing this season. With Jonas Gutierrez and Danny Guthrie have tasted the pre-season matches before today, it was Fabrizio Coloccini who is still “virgin” in…
Fabricio Coloccini the answer to Newcastle United worst defensive record
The wait is over, Fabrizio Coloccini is now Newcastle most expensive defender so far. Previous record holder was held by Jonathan Woodgate with a £9 million transfer fee. His record surpassed by Coloccini from a Deportivo official claim that his fee could rise to around £10.3million.
Is he worth that much?
Coloccini started his career in the youth team of Argentinos Juniors, but made his professional debut in 1998 with Boca Juniors. In 1999, at the end…
Stand up and be counted, Milner shows it to the Toon Army
Newcastle United pre-season frendliests have been in plus-minus shows us of what our new season would be. We started with a 4-1 win and end it with another win, with series of defeats and one draw in between.
Mike Ashley was seen wearing the new purple away shirt with Coloccini’s name on the back, with the player himself, a £9.5m switch to St James’s Park, also present in the directors’ box.
United in silver, our third away…
Newcastle United 2008-2009 season preview
I went to my first home game of the new season last night at St James Park. Newcastle played with in their new away Purple strip against an all in white PSV team. This was very much the typical pre season warm up, with neither team really looking to put in 100%, probably due to a lack of match fitness.
Newcastle started well going 2-0 up within 8 minutes. Steven Taylor scored a brilliant headed goal and…
Slightly better performance earn Newcastle a draw
Believe it or not, we finally can score goals when there’s no Smudge on the field. Although Keegan still insists that he will not be sold to Everton, the reason why he’s not been included in Toon match against PSV Eindhoven last night was because Smith is having a sore ankle.
“We will probably get two or three more players in and settle down with a quality squad.” Keegan added, “Alan is very popular and can…
Newcastle vs PSV Eindhoven friendly match preview
Harper or Krul? I really like Krul, I’ve seen a couple of times for the reserves and he did well in Scotland, yet he hasn’t been without criticism in pre-season and a rumour was doing the rounds that NUFC might sell him. I really hope Krul steps up to the plate this season It’ll be great to have a goalie who can kick the ball. I like Harper but with him we’ll never be control…
New Newcastle take over plan will bring us to glory shortly (with a BIG question mark added here)
Alright, alright, someone email me and asking me why Magpies Zone don’t say anything about the current rapid issues of a new take over plan from the man who has the “personal” fortune of TWICE that Russian who own the Blues.
Well, the truth is, I’m kinda allergic to those gossip kind of news. I only want to write if that is actually happening and not guessing or “someone told you so”. But this time, I…
Newcastle United complete a hattrick last night
Yes right, during the pre-season campaign we have a hattrick of lossing so far. Not a really good sign of a quality squad for the start of the premier league in just two weeks from now.
All the last three pre-season matches end-up with a 1-0 defeat. First we loss to Donny then on the Mallorca Summer Cup’s first game against Hertha Berlin and last night against the host team Real Mallorca.
Two defeats make us sit…
Newcastle United down again at Ono Stadium
In a match were Jonas Gutierrez finally made his debut with Newcastle on the left flank at the home of his old club, United has made a losing start to the Mallorca Summer Cup, down 1-0 to Hertha Berlin.
With Keegan apparently still desperate to seal another new signings for Newcastle, He has seen (again) his depleted side went down and losing the chance to the final.
This is our second away lost in the pre-season matches,…
Donny bring the coffin back again for Keegan men
Keepmoat stadium have pulled back an old memory to United goalkeeper Steve Harper. He said yesterday that when he played for hartlepool he watched Donny’s fans carried out a coffin.
“It was when they were having some big protests, and they carried a coffin, though I’m not sure if it was into the ground or out of the ground.” Harper told the Gazette, “It’ll probably have been 11 years ago. We drew – it was 2-2.”
And…
