Ashley intends to buy success at Newcastle?
January 10th, 2008 by Gallowgate JimIt all depends on Ashley’s intentions with regard to how much money he will be giving. Did he give Allardyce relatively low amounts of money because that’s all he intends to spend every summer? Or was it because he wanted “his man” in place first?
Remember he is in the 25th richest Brit. He could quite easily do an Abramovich. We could compete with their spending if he decided to. If he is a real fan (he has been sitting amongst the toon fans at away games) perhaps this is his intention.
If it is, then he must appoint someone like Mourinho with Knowledge of the top stars accross Europe.
If it isn’t, and he intends to give the next manager small amounts of cash then it didn’t change things. I’m not sure the likes of Mourhinio would be the best option. Perhaps in this situation someone like Sam Allardyce would be the perfect man for the job.
I pray to God that he has sacked Allardyce precisely because he wants to start spending big money and isn’t confident that Allardyce is the right man for the job. Hopefully he intends to buy success. It won’t bother me at all.
If he intends to carry on spending a mere £20 millions with a different bloke like Redknapp he’ll soon see the fans turn on him. If he’s a supporter I’m sure he can give us another £50 millions this summer.

The Lads should not let him and around 3,000 Toon Army disappointed, this is the game that we should not get lost in. The fact is we never get lose on their home since 1979-1980 season, and Sam Allardyce should not making a new record break history for the opposite team, like he did last week. This time it would be very unacceptable.
Mike Ashley finally made his appearance in public since his complete take over of Toon. He was in the stands cheering on the Magpies during our 2-2 draw with rivals Middlesbrough.
