I Will Always Follow the Magpie Till I Die

March 20th, 2008 by shearyadi

My dear Toon Army and my other internet friends, thanks for the support for this blog so far and for all your comment to the posts, I really appreciate it and encourage you to keep doing it and please do correct me if I’m wrong.

Today, I have a very interesting comment from my latest Toon friend Sandy. She ( or he? ) has write a cool comment for my post about our new chairman Chris Mort and the club owner Mike Ashley. To Sandy, I’m sorry if my post is steering more negativity to our beloved Newcastle United, but to be honest I only want to say what’s on my mind.

My dear Sandy, if you read my post again carefully, you will see that in personal I don’t say they are not knowing anything about football, in fact I feel it’s funny that from the Guardian article, they said that Mike Ashley decision to get Keegan back was only because we told him to.

And my opinion about Chris Mort, I feel bad to read that he is surprising that we are in the relegation battle now and feels that this is not what he and Mike thought when buy out the club.

According to my humble perception, he is saying that Newcastle United situation now is nothing to do with his or Ashley’s decision in running this club. There’s so many factors I guess that possibly drag us into this relegation threat.

First of all, the former manager. I was personally supporting him all the way (please browse more pages on this blog and you will find it) but later, when he denied to take any reponsibility for any mistake that he’s been doing in managing Newcastle I lost my respect to him.

And in January, when Mike decided to ask Mort to sack BSA, many of the Toon Army think it was a good decision, but there are many of us also think it was bad decision and not in the right time. It was good decision if Mike is already knows (for sure) who is the new gaffer to replaced BSA, but I think he is not.

I also agree with Sandy about what the Toon Army wanted is 110% attacking football, and I was the one who is in tears when I read about the Messiah is back in Toon, I have a special page dedicated to him. I will always supporting Keegan and that’s why I write on my last post: I will said Mike and Chris knows nothing about football if they don’t give KK a massive funds to rebuild this club.

Once again, I’m sorry if this post is another negative thought, I was the same as everyone who is supporting United and was so passionate for this club more than anything. This site will always be Magpies Zone and will never be Smoggies Zone.

Relegation is Good for Newcastle United?

March 3rd, 2008 by shearyadi

Relegation is one of the biggest fear ever for most of all Newcastle United supporters this season. We have seen our club roller-coaster ride through the last decade, we’ve been once a Champions League side under Sir Bobby Robson and then suddenly things only getting worst and worst since the former chairman shocking decision to sack him.

Today, an old friend of mine who has been following the club together with me since 1993, write an interesting comment. Marda, now live in Japan, think that the relegation is maybe a good thing for Newcastle, while my Geordie mate said relegation is just that we’ll be playing 23 different teams next season.

And for more horrified news today, from the Guardian, Kevin Keegan is understood to have told Mike Ashley, Newcastle United’s owner, that he cannot offer him any assurances that the club will avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.

The result of KK statement, the Guardian also write about the rumour about Mike Ashley has cause to regret appointing Keegan ahead of Mark Hughes, the Blackburn manager. Well, the irony is everyone who was inside the St. James’s Park stadium last Saturday, have seen Newcastle’s best performance this season.

Meanwhile, in an interview with BBC Radio 5’s Sportsweek programme yesterday, United chairman Chris Mort insisted Mike Ashley still supporting KK. Mort said Kevin has got the (Newcastle) players playing very well and he is sure, the good results will follow.

This weekend we will travelling to Anfield, and I don’t think with United’s team confidence remains rock-bottom, we can have good result there. Another defeat is a possible result, with the slim chance we can force to get a draw. If we can have a draw from them then the next fixture against Birmingham (away) will be winable.

So, in the matter of life and death we don’t have any reason to not have winning games in our last three home fixtures against Fulham (March 22nd), Reading (April 5th) and macKems (April 19th). If we failed to get those possible 12 points then we can say goodbye to the Premier League.

Mike Turn Sight To “His Man” Mark Hughes

January 14th, 2008 by shearyadi

Former Vice-Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, Paul Kemsley is Mike Ashley’s private advisor? I can say it seems to appear like that. Kemsley who left the London club Spurs in October 2007 and runs Rock Properties, a property company, is a close friend of Mike.

Source close to Ashley claim that Mike wants Hughes at first place after taking the decision to sack Allardyce, but later he made Harry Redknapp his top target upon the advice of Paul Kemsley. Ashley thought with Paul Kemsley having far more experience in football, he must be right about Redknapp.

Ashley known to admire the Welsh manager when he was regularly visiting Ewood Park regarding to commercial tie-up between Blackburn’s former kit manufacturer Lonsdale which is one of Ashley company.

Now, after Harry Redknapp is announcing to stay at Pompey, Mike turn on his sight back to Hughes again. The senior Newcastle United sources, told the Guardian last night about the CVs of other candidates are also being scrutinized. The name of other strong candidates are including Gérard Houllier, Jose Mourinho and Steve McClaren.

Before coming back from his business trip, Mike have said that he needs time to make his final decision about the one who will be the next United manager. The club source also admits they (Ashley and Chris Mort) will take their time in making a careful appointment.

But, after watching the last Saturday’s trashing by Manchester United and how the United caretaker Nigel Pearson said it is the situation that would be best to served first, there’s no other way for both Mike Ashley and Chris Mort except to make the decision immediately.

The man himself, Mark Hughes, said he had not had any contact with Newcastle so far and he doesn’t answer to any hypothetical questions that come to his side about the possibility to manage Newcastle United.

“It’s not in my hands; it’s in the chairman’s hands. I’m proud to be Blackburn Rovers’ manager (but) in football you can never say never.” He told the Guardian.

Meanwhile, the Magpies Zone source said the thing about Hughes that bothers the Toon Army is that he is a classic ‘other club’ man. There isn’t anything about him for Newcastle to be proud of. He is just doesn’t feel right to some.

So, who will be the one?
