Chris Mort Statement On Newcastle United Latest Appointments

January 29th, 2008 by shearyadi

United official club today announces the club has appointed Dennis Wise in the role of Executive Director (Football), Tony Jimenez as Vice President who will be responsible for future player recruitments for the club and Jeff Vetere, who joins from Real Madrid in the position of Technical Co-ordinator.

Dennis Wise’s job is mostly to assist the United Board on football-related matters, including the development of the Club’s Academy and player recruitment. He will report to the Chairman.

Tony and Jeff will also assist in player recruitment. Our source said that the final decision of any new player recruitments will also have included Keegan’s thought.

Below is Newcastle United’s chairman statement as quoted from the official club site:

“This is all part of the vision that recently helped us to secure Kevin Keegan’s return to the Club as manager.”

“Two of the conclusions of our strategic review, since acquiring the Club, were that the Club would benefit from having a football person involved at Board level, which it has not had historically, and that further senior resources are needed for recruiting players of the highest quality from this country and further afield.”

“Dennis would like to move away from day-to-day football management to a Board role and, with his considerable energy and intelligence, we believe he will do very well in this new position.”

“With Kevin able to devote his efforts to developing and running the first team squad, Dennis, Tony and Jeff will each help us to secure success for Newcastle United Football Club at all levels and for the long-term. One or two further key appointments will follow in the months ahead.”

Dennis Wise Joins Newcastle United For Any Executive Job

January 28th, 2008 by shearyadi

I was a bit “shocked” about Dennis Wise is leaving Leeds to join Newcastle. Kevin Keegan is keen to have Wise in his new-look backroom team in what to believe as the director of football at St James’ Park.

While on the United official site still have no confirmation when this article being posted, Leeds official has writen their statement as quoted below,

“We have agreed a compensation package with Newcastle United for the services of our manager Dennis Wise and he will part company with the club on Tuesday January 29 after completing the preparations for our game at Southend United that evening.”

Our “independent” sources said the appointment of Dennis Wise is although a bit confusing but it seems that the deal was in the pipeline before KK came, so we assume that KK is happy with the latest NUFC appointment.

Dennis Wise is true has joining Newcastle United but as far as we know He’s not going to be directly involved with the team. We will follow the progress and see what he’s being used for.
