After watching his “limited” Toon squad stalemate game against Bolton yesterday, King Kev reveals he needs to bring in at least three more players in January transfer window.

Admitted it was frustrating one, Keegan saw his second reign at St. James’ Park met the Wanderers stubborn barrier, Gary Megson’s squad hold the gate very tight for any of United players to creating clear chances infront of their goal.

“If you look at the result and look at the game, we certainly didn’t play as well as we can or I thought we could.” Keegan said on the official club site, “But there were a lot of reasons for that, not least that these players played the game last Wednesday with ten men for 60 minutes and were terrific, but looked a bit tired today.”

The fact that King Kev was without some of Newcastle United’s key players are also has some part of yesterday’s failure to get the maximum points. The rests of United squad who can play are all looked a bit of tired after the midweek FA Cup replay against Stoke City.

So, if you think Keegan was a joke on his first game in charge, should think twice and look back at his resources yesterday. United bench was packed with four academy players, and one of them has made it to get involve in the game as replacement.

“We were without eight players and then Mark Viduka pulled a muscle yesterday, so we had nine out.,” Keegan added, “The two young players – Charles N’Zogbia and James Milner – who played very well on Wednesday and were outstanding didn’t quite manage to do that today, but we were playing a Premier League side.”

And today, Keegan said he wants to recruit ready-made Premier League players who have no need of a settling-in period. The requirement is clear as you can not expect any player to come in January transfer window just to wasting time in need of to settle down with the Premierships style of play.

“I prefer to bring in players who don’t need settling in. But we’ve got some good players here – make no mistake about it.” Keegan said, “I want to bring in three players, I know who they are, but we’ll have to see if they are available.”

We need players who are ready to give in January transfer, they will act as an immediate help to the team current condition until the end of the season, so we don’t have time to wait for them to make adjustment to the new league environments.

King Kev already have some names on his pocket, he knew all about the players he was inheriting despite almost three years out of the game. News today speculating about Newcastle will try to lure the Geordie lad Michael Carrick out of the Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Toon new signing Ben Tozer scores on his first game with the Toon academy against Nottingham Forest. The 17-year-old centre-back put Newcastle ahead in the 71st minute before Forest top scorer Ryan Whitehurst fired home an equaliser for the home team, five minutes before full time.
