NOBBY Solano has bid farewell to Newcastle United’s Toon Army for the second time after completing a deadline day move to West Ham United.

The popular Peruvian who has reach an adopted-Geordie level from Toon Army, has joined the Hammers for an undisclosed fee having earlier in the summer stated his desire to be closer to his family in London. Solano completed 315 appearances with 48 goals for the black and whites during two spells on Tyneside, after making his final appearance against Barnsley in Carling Cup 2nd round match.

From his years with Newcastle United, Solano described his solo effort against 1860 Munich in the Intertoto Cup in July, 2001 as the “best goal of my career”. Nobby skipping by a string of German challenges after collecting the ball inside his own half before finishing with style from inside the penalty area.

He will join the numbers of ex-United players in West Ham, and could make immediate return to St. James’ Park on September 23 when the Hammers come to Tyneside.

Meanwhile, another Geordie favorite, PAUL Huntington has left Newcastle United to sign for Leeds United for an undisclosed fee. This news is surprising me, as I thought he was only will have a loan business at Elland Road. The Official site has announced he was being SOLD. Well, farewell to Huntie too, hope he will gained more first team experience there.
