Damien Duff, The Very Best of Toon Player

Sam Allardyce was once again being a subject for another Toon disappointed result at home and JJB Stadium by the Toon Army boo boys. I don’t really understand why they have to take all the blame to Big Sam. I don’t buy it if any football manager ever wanted to get beat by other team.

Today we have such a silly tabloid news from the Sun reporting about he does not trust his United players to save him from the chop. They also said that Big Sam was blasted by the 5,000-strong Toon Army during the 1-0 defeat at Wigan on Boxing Day.

If you believe it then I don’t see the reason why you should call yourself as a Toon Army. We have been once again being a delicious subject for the press to write bad things about Newcastle and used any single words from anyone inside St. James’ Park to get the attention.

I want you to keep your faith on our team, and looking back to our Boxing Day’s history from the past years. Is it only Allardyce who has the bad results while the Toon playing against any team in Premier League during the Festive period? We have all the poor as many results as we have seen during the last ten years.

The only win we have was under Sir Bobby Robson when we play at home in 2001 against the Boro. Besides that we have only three draws and seven defeats.

I’m not saying that we’re playing the best game ever at JJB stadium but to raise something that Chris Mort said as the same old story is ridiculous. Are we that kind of supporters? The glory hunters type of the Southern club mostly have? Howay man, we are more better than that!

We should take noticed from what our Damien Duff said about the lads performance at JJB Stadium on Wednesday. Damien Duff admits at Sky Sports that the Newcastle players must take the blame for the club’s poor Christmas form. Have taken just a single point from two festive games against lower sides Derby and Wigan.

“We are behind him and we just want to put it right for him. He cannot take all the flak,” he said. “We are the ones on the pitch, so don’t hammer him, hammer us. The players have to stand up and be counted as well.”

I can see Big Sam is as frustrated as we are, and he doesn’t believe his unlucky time as much as the Lads may feel about our last two fixtures.

“Instead of taking four or six points out of these last two games after putting a bit of a run together, we have ended up with one,” He said as quoted from skysports. “Now Chelsea away is looming, followed by Manchester City at home, so it is disappointing we have not been pro-active enough to take advantage of the position we had put ourselves in.”

I do believe what we have to do at Stamford Bridge, we are the Black-and-White Army and we sing our heart out and supporting the Toon is our duty, through thick and thin. We are not glory hunters and we are the believers, that someday somewhere, someone will put things right for Newcastle United. Until that moment come, we will always stand up and support the team!
