What the Papers Said, Latest Newcastle’s Rumours

March 25th, 2008 by shearyadi

Don’t take what you read seriously though, but some of you may interested to know what’s going on recently with Newcastle and what the papers said about Keegan’s possible signing in the summer.

First of all, I have read on two Newcastle supporters forum a news about Mike Ashley lost millions of pounds on a share bet on Halifax Bank of Scotland. According to the Press Association, Mike has nursing losses running into tens of millions of pounds.

The news was something that other cheap scumbags media will love to spread and make their own versions from it. One of those is, no surprise, coming from the Sun who make a report that Ashley could be prepared to sell Newcastle United for the right price.

The Northern Echo writes Dubai International Capital - who have been trying to buy Liverpool - are known to be considering an approach, while there were also recent suggestions that a locally-based consortium was trying to get Alan Shearer to front a takeover.

Personaly I don’t believe what those papers said, but, if they actually telling the truth, the sooner we know Mike Ashley’s “True Colors” the better.

Now the news about Toon future signings from various media. Gazette write about Keegan preparing to make a new bid of around £2m in the summer. for Manchester United’s Mikael Silvestre. 30-year-old French International has been reported to close to full fitness, and already made return to the Red devils reserve side in a friendly clash at Bolton Wanderers in midweek.

He was having a badly knee injury while playing for ManU side against Everton at Goodison Park back in September, and I think Keegan was smart enough to not making approach for any player with injury record as bad as Silvestre. He will build a totally new, fresh and strongest Newcastle United squad and definetely not making Toon as the recycle bin for other premier league teams.

Meanwhile, the appointment of Newcastle new chief scout Lil Fuccillo following the departure of former chief Steve Walsh has made all Toon’s administrative role was being operated from the capital. Tony Jimenez, Jeff Vetere and now Lil Fuccillo are all operate from around London.

Fucillo currently spotted been checking on two Championship side team in search for any Toon new signing prospects. He was at Hillsborough last Saturday to be watching Wednesday’s 18-year-old centre half Mark Beevers, and Palace’s 17-year-old striker Sean Scannell. Both are playing in Sheffield Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Cystal Palace.

Keegan Handed Unlimited Transfer Funds

January 18th, 2008 by shearyadi

After has a meeting with Newcastle chairman Chris Mort, King Kev has been promised unlimited funds next summer. Keegan met United chairman yesterday to map out his strategy for the January transfer window after seeing his United players for the first time to describe his vision of the future at the plush Benton complex.

The source close to United owner told the Telegraph today that Mike has told Keegan he has a “bottomless pit” of money at his disposal as he attempts to turn the club into an exciting, attacking force capable of challenging English football’s big four.

Telegraph also reveals the Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe, Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips and full-back Wayne Bridge, Barcelona’s Deco, Celtic’s Scott Brown, Bayern Munich’s Belgian centre-half Daniel van Buyten and Manchester United’s Wes Brown are among Keegan’s first transfer list in January.

King Kev has spent nearly £35 million in his first four years as Newcastle Manager from 1992 - 1996 on the way to turning Newcastle United from no-hopers into a club with very few equals to other Premiership team. During that period, he has signed and transferred around 60 players and assembled the strongest squad in the club’s history.

“I’ve had terrific pleasure from so many players I’ve brought here. I’ve said how much I admire Brian Kilcline and my thoughts on Andy Cole are well known. Andy did a fantastic job here and he’ll always score goals” King Kev said in an interview during his first spell at Newcastle.

“Sometimes you would analyse the way he’d played, decide that he hadn’t done this or that too well and then wondered how he’d managed another hat-trick!”

Asking about his other signings that years, Keegan said that getting Peter Beardsley gave him a lot of pleasure. Keegan said that you didn’t need to be a clever manager to know what he could do for your team. Before signing Beardsley, King Kev has to persuading Sir John Hall that Peter wasn’t too old and was the real trick in that deal.

“I keep reminding Sir John of the job Peter is still doing. The chairman takes it very well - it was a classic case of the Board backing the manager’s judgement and that is all a manager can ask.” He said.

But from most of them all, Keegan has single out Robert Lee from all the other players he has signed for Newcastle United. Since United’s moved him from the wide right position he held at Charlton into the center of Newcastle midfield, he’s developed into the best midfield player in Britain.

“Robert has gone on raising his standards in line with the way we’ve raised Newcastle United’s standards and I really can’t speak too highly of the man.” Keegan said about Rob Lee.

Now, following his second return, The Toon Army is waiting eagerly for his first move in the transfer market. The Geordies are waiting for another Keegan’s brilliant signings just like what he did when he brought in the likes of Andy Cole, Philippe Albert, David Ginola, Keith Gillespie, David Batty, Les Ferdinand, Scott Sellars, John Beresford, Faustino Asprilla, Paul Bracewell, Barry Venison, Ruel Fox, Marc Hottiger and of course Big Alan Shearer.

Mike Turn Sight To “His Man” Mark Hughes

January 14th, 2008 by shearyadi

Former Vice-Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, Paul Kemsley is Mike Ashley’s private advisor? I can say it seems to appear like that. Kemsley who left the London club Spurs in October 2007 and runs Rock Properties, a property company, is a close friend of Mike.

Source close to Ashley claim that Mike wants Hughes at first place after taking the decision to sack Allardyce, but later he made Harry Redknapp his top target upon the advice of Paul Kemsley. Ashley thought with Paul Kemsley having far more experience in football, he must be right about Redknapp.

Ashley known to admire the Welsh manager when he was regularly visiting Ewood Park regarding to commercial tie-up between Blackburn’s former kit manufacturer Lonsdale which is one of Ashley company.

Now, after Harry Redknapp is announcing to stay at Pompey, Mike turn on his sight back to Hughes again. The senior Newcastle United sources, told the Guardian last night about the CVs of other candidates are also being scrutinized. The name of other strong candidates are including Gérard Houllier, Jose Mourinho and Steve McClaren.

Before coming back from his business trip, Mike have said that he needs time to make his final decision about the one who will be the next United manager. The club source also admits they (Ashley and Chris Mort) will take their time in making a careful appointment.

But, after watching the last Saturday’s trashing by Manchester United and how the United caretaker Nigel Pearson said it is the situation that would be best to served first, there’s no other way for both Mike Ashley and Chris Mort except to make the decision immediately.

The man himself, Mark Hughes, said he had not had any contact with Newcastle so far and he doesn’t answer to any hypothetical questions that come to his side about the possibility to manage Newcastle United.

“It’s not in my hands; it’s in the chairman’s hands. I’m proud to be Blackburn Rovers’ manager (but) in football you can never say never.” He told the Guardian.

Meanwhile, the Magpies Zone source said the thing about Hughes that bothers the Toon Army is that he is a classic ‘other club’ man. There isn’t anything about him for Newcastle to be proud of. He is just doesn’t feel right to some.

So, who will be the one?
