January 25th, 2008 by shearyadi

King Kev Newcastle’s squad will bolster up with the return of Alan Smith and Nicky Butt after the FA suspensions but will still missing Emre, who is banned for the red card he received in Newcastle’s FA Cup 3rd round replay against Stoke City.

Mark Viduka remains doubt with calf problem, while Joey Barton is once again still unlikely to figure. After having worked with his squad for over a week now, King Kev is confident that Newcastle can give a hard time for the London side and will try to give them another Cup defeat.

“It’s a terrific tie for us. If you thought about the places where we could go there can’t be too many harder.” Keegan said in the official site, “The cup throws up shocks at times and for most people it would be a shock, but I’ve said to the players this week, ‘What do we want to go there and do?’ Obviously the aim is to still be in the competition.”

King Kev also ask the United squad to be courageous out there and try to cause them more problems. Keegan added with the players such as Alan Smith, Michael Owen, Charles N’Zogbia, Damien Duff and James Milner, it’s no good to asking them to go there and sit back try to get a goalless draw. I like that Mr. Keegan!

Arsenal will be minus Robin van Persie who still suffering a thigh injury, midfielder Denilson with hamstring, and Johan Djourou still got a groin injury, but defenders Philippe Senderos and Gael Clichy may return. Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue and Alex Song all are away on African Nations Cup duty.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Adebayor and Nicklas Bendtner on-pitch bust up during last Tuesday’s League Cup has made coward coach Arsene Wenger cancelled his regular Friday news conference, why oh why Mr. Wenger, are you afraid of being speechless infront of the press?

Kevin Keegan Says No To Alan Shearer

January 25th, 2008 by shearyadi

BBC report reveals today that Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan has confirmed that Alan Shearer will not be his assistant - but insists he could still have a role with the club.

I have personally thought that the posibility of Big Al as King Kev assistant was as thin as skin couple days ago, and it comes to even worst when Shearer’s told the Sun couple days ago that he didn’t see Newcastle as the only club that he can manage.

The news would be disappointing one for the Toon Army as the expectation was very high to see them pairing together for Newcastle. But King Kev still see the opportunity for Shearer to have a position within his new set-up at St James’ Park, but definetely not as the assistant.

Football Is Different To When Keegan Was Last Manager?

January 24th, 2008 by Swift

And the terms of he’ll never succeed because he doesn’t understand it was bollocks, great big bollocks. Now, take if you will, Keegan’s last side - the one who beat Spurs 7-1 and imagine them playing the current Liverpool team. Who do you think would win that match?

image

Of course, those players are now history, but Keegan isn’t. He’s our manager. Football was and still is a game where 11 play 11 and attempt to win through outmastering the opposition with better skill and endeavour. That hasn’t changed.

What has changed?

The players may be better cinditioned, but I doubt that the difference in fitness is that much different. For instance, how do you think Les Ferdinand then would compare to Mark Viduka now? I think we all know the answer to that.

And skill? Do you think that Joe Cole, for example, is much more skillful than Peter Beardsley or David Ginola? Of course to bollocks he’s not. It’s preposterous to even suggest it really!

So, what has changed?

Teams are meant to be full of better players further down the league, but are they? Could this not simply be a trick of the mind?

No, this ‘the league is so different now Keegan will never stand a chance’ mantra is quite simply mythical arse talk. Football played with skill and effort will always win. It hasn’t changed. Keegan understands that.

Who is promoting this myth? It needs binning and fast, do you disagree?
