After A Vote of Confidence, Allardyce Can Spend In January?

Sam Allardyce has revealed that he is still not sure on how much he can spend this month to buy new players. After received a vote of confidence from Newcastle chairman yesterday, Big Sam has already identified the players he would like to bring in and send the list “upstairs”.

Several reports from the press of who will be his new signings in January transfer window, many of them are so called ‘wide of mark’ and I’m predicted Big Sam possible ‘real target’ are not more than just two players.

Allardyce is very keen to sign Manchester United’s full back Silvestre, and if possible he also wants to lure Wes Brown. But from these two names, I can see the main target is Silvestre.

The French defender is in fact have been thinking to accept Allardyce offer, but later he show respects to his good friend Ousmane Dabo who was being abused by Joey Barton, he cancelled the move.

Now, the bad boy is in jail after the midfielder was charged by the Police with common assault and affray. Allardyce refused to tell the press about his future at Newcastle.

“I have spoken to him but I’m not going to tell you what was said. The Joey Barton situation is something we had to put behind us because we’ve got so many games in such a short period of time,” said Allardyce. “We’ll deal with that later on and find out what the outcome is when I get the opportunity with the chairman.”

But some news later on suggesting that the United board is considering to cut-out Barton’s contract with United. If the story is going on like that, it will open the new door for a possible move of Silvestre to Tyneside, and we can forget about Wes Brown as I don’t think Brown is fit in what we needed at the moment.

How about Brazilian Edmilson? Cacapa is hoping to re-united with Barcelona’s forgotten man, but I don’t think he also will be a good addition for the Magpies.

I don’t think signing a new injury prone player would be a good move, we already have enough of this type of player.

If Big Sam is succeeded on bringing in Silvestre, the other name that I think was having a huge prospect to signed for Toon is the Russian Andre Arshavin.

Forget about Cho-Jae Jin, although I will be glad to see an Asian player in Black-and-White but he is far below the Arshavin’s class.

Until the first day of the January tansfer window Big Sam still waiting for the response from United’s board of directors. Sam was never given an indication of any available budget during the summer and he doesn’t surprise if it will be similar in this January transfer window.

“I am putting players forward to the chairman and decisions will be made from there,” said Allardyce. “The players that might be available and are available are being discussed on a regular basis, day to day.”

I believe that Sam should sack that No Good Barton, since his arrival he hasn’t made any impact to the team, only trouble. If we missed out Silvestre just because of him it will be a huge loss. Silvestre is a very versatile defender player and we really really need this kind of player in our back 4
