Newcastle United Women's Reserves won their last game before the Christmas break in emphatic style beating Stockport County 13-1.
On a freezing afternoon at Coach Lane the second string enjoyed the support usually afforded the First Team whose game was called off.
Coach Kris Glenwright gave debuts to two graduates from the FA Centre of Excellence, Sarah Eadon in goal and twin sister Stephanie up front who scores 4 goals on her debut for the second string, and was elected as MVP.
But it was two old schemers who warmed Geordie hearts within two minutes of the kick-off. Skipper Lisa Coleman picked up the ball just over the half way line and made a darting run up the right wing.
Her pinpoint cross picked out Melanie Reay who rose above the Stockport defence to head the ball past the Stockport keeper.
