August 31, 2007 · Filed Under Nolberto Solano, Paul Huntington, Transfers · Comment

NOBBY Solano has bid farewell to Newcastle United’s Toon Army for the second time after completing a deadline day move to West Ham United.

The popular Peruvian who has reach an adopted-Geordie level from Toon Army, has joined the Hammers for an undisclosed fee having earlier in the summer stated his desire to be closer to his family in London. Solano completed 315 appearances with 48 goals for the black and whites during two spells on…

August 30, 2007 · Filed Under Game Review, Michael Owen, Obafemi Martins · 1 Comment

Both our last night goal-scorers, Owen and Martins are expressing how happy they are to have scores in front of the magnificent Toon Army. Especially for Owen who has scored his first goal in 20 months for the Magpies.
Against Barnsley, Owen opening scores for the Toon in 57 minutes after some series of dangerous penetration from Toon players in the first half didn’t get into target.

Toon Army Racists? I don’t Think so!

August 28, 2007 · Filed Under Newcastle United · 3 Comments

It was shocking when I read some news about Mido’s being abused as a terrorist by some of travelling Toon supporters at Riverside stadium last Sunday.

Mido, have been subjected to unsavoury chants during a stormy Tyne-Tees derby on Sunday, has defended his actions in confronting the Newcastle United fans who singled him out for racist abuse.

As a fellow Toon Army, I was sad to read that news if it’s true. It is hard to believe…

Let’s Say Hello and Thanks to Mr. Gibson!

August 27, 2007 · Filed Under Mark Viduka · Comment

Middlesbrough Chairman Steve Gibson has expressed his relief that his club are finally rid of prolific goalscorers Mark Viduka and Yakubu Ayegbeni.

Sam Allardyce may have experience of “Bad Smell” at our dressing room and he is trying to get rid off that smell, but on the Gibson’s case, the bad smell was not in the dressing room but inside his pocket perhaps?

Today’s news as being quoted from www.caughtoffside.com, was taking my sight. They have written…

Howay Mike Ashley!!! You are one of Toon Army!

August 27, 2007 · Filed Under Newcastle United · 1 Comment

Mike Ashley finally made his appearance in public since his complete take over of Toon. He was in the stands cheering on the Magpies during our 2-2 draw with rivals Middlesbrough.

He is even sporting his black and white colours complete with the name and number of - “Smith - 17″. What a pleasant support and that was a very good boost for the moral of our players and managers, although his first game attend was…

Keep the Faith, If You Love the Toon!

August 26, 2007 · Filed Under Game Review · Comment

Sam Allardyce was an unhappy man after seeing the Magpies leaving Riverside with just a point after twice taking the lead.

All the Lads are surely feel disappointed and know that they have made us down, but as a genuine Toon Army, we should keep the faith and support them all the way, no matter what. If you think supporting the Toon was easy, you are not worth to call yourself Toon Army!

Goodbye Luque, hope you’ll get more Lucky with Ajax

August 25, 2007 · Filed Under Transfers · 4 Comments

Luque had expressed an interest in joining Real Betis and had also been linked with a move to PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord, Bordeaux and Barcelona, before he finally choose Ajax as his new club. The 29-year-old Spaniard is expected to sign a three-year contract.

To be honest, the news is a bit of surprise, as I thought at first place that we will see a “Different” Luque this season. He has shown us what he can do…

Enough to act like you know the game better!

August 25, 2007 · Filed Under Sam Allardyce · Comment

It was worrying when Sam Allardyce first arrived because many Toon fans (myself included) feared we could become a ‘long ball’ team. Even more so last week when he said “defenders should never be creative”. Now that DID worry me.

Many Toon Fans? Is there any voting ever made about Allardyce tactic, and the results are coming from all Toon Army worldwide, or is it just “Personal Opinion”?

I didn’t see anything wrong with Sam’s tactic, and I…

New second away kit, the Argentinian spirit?

August 23, 2007 · Filed Under Jose Enrique · 5 Comments

Light blue, the favorite official Toon color this season. To be honest I don’t like the light blue color, seems faded and no contrast. As far as I can remember, we never had any season in our premier league years where we have all black and white in both home and away kits.

So, I have try to make how it looks if the new away kit was in the black and white spirits. What do…
